The Goldsworthy Collection

Selected Ruby Stained Pieces

The Goldsworthy Collection at the Ruby Stain MuseumSome of the most interesting pieces from Fred and Goldy's collection have been placed in a show case in the Ruby Stain Museum along with pictures and memorabilia.

On the top shelf are six Nogi goblets, a Shoshone open high standard compote, a Scalloped Swirl syrup, a Block Band tumbler engraved "Nettie", and an Imperial Glass Lion covered dish. The tumbler was probably not found in Idaho. The bottom shelf has a Double Daisy engraved, covered cracker jar, the Idaho pieces that started it all, a Duncan #8 bottle apparently made by fusing a top to a tumbler a lá the Athena Glass Company patent for Apollo (engraved Hazel Pure Food Co. Chicago U.S.A.), a Riverside's Victoria jelly compote and a Heisey Queen Anne water pitcher.

The Queen Anne was found at the very back and bottom of the collection but in my opinion it is one of the collection's crown jewels. Goldy was partial to the Lion and thought it was Atterbury. I think that she identified with the lion's personality and hair color.

Nettie may have been to the 1894 Chicago Exposition as the XCLR pitcher is from there. Each of her sons, Harold and Horace had a Button Arch toothpick. A 1913 Button Arch toothpick or match holder memorializes the newly minted Mr. And Mrs. Horace and Nettie Bly Goldsworthy. Their son Fred was born in 1914.

Second Shelf of the Goldsworthy Collection at the Ruby stain MuseumThe petroglyphs were made by Goldy and given as gifts.

The collection of the Ruby Stain Museum is generally organized alphabetically by pattern. Where available Heacock's Book VII names are used. Pieces from the balance of Goldy's collection have been marked for identification, using an appropriate red dot and integrated into the larger collection.
