**NEW** McKee Brothers National Glass Catalog, Circa 1902
We now have made available a complete digital copy of the National Glass Company, Operating McKee & Bros. Glass Works, Jeanette, PA. Catalogue of Table Ware, Lamps, Chimneys & Glass Ware. Plain and Decorated.

Heacock's book on ruby stain is out of print and is being revised. Willi and I own the copyright. We present the book on this web site for reference use only. Presently we are attempting to locate Heacock's notes for Book VIII in an archaic electronic wasteland. [See Heacock VII, page 3.] Stay tuned for updates on progress.

Barret's book on ruby stain was based on the Vincent's collection located at the Bennington Museum. It is long out-of-print. We assume that the copyright has long lapsed so caveat user.

HEISEY GLASS FORMULAS - And More
West Virginia Museum of American Glass and the Ruby Stain Museum, Edited by Neila Bredehoft

Augustus Heisey was a key figure in the pressed glass industry. The company he founded lasted until 1957. He fought in the Civil War, including Gettysburg. We have acquired some historic documents from this glass company and will make them available on this web site as time allows. We start with the Heisey chemist, Emmett Olson's notes on glass making. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these files. If you do not already have Acrobat, you can download it for free from this link. Since the material also contains his batch books, eventually the "recipes" for all of the colors made by Heisey will be available on this site. Olson joined Heisey in 1919 as an apprentice fitting stoppers. After six months, he was assigned to the batch room and in 1922 he became Heisey's chemist. He left the company shortly before it closed. [Reference: Felt, Thomas: A.H. Heisey & Company; Heisey Collectors of America, Inc., Newark, Ohio; 1996]
